Euroentrepreneurship – university qualifications for the Europeanization of the Romanian society” (POSDRU/156/1.2/G/140578) is a project implemented by the College of Communication and Public Relations (National University of Political Studies and Public Administration – NUPSPA, Bucharest) in partnership with the Institute for European Studies within Vrije Universitiet Brussels (VUB). The project is co-financed by the European Social Fund via the Sectoral Operational Programme Human Resources Development 2007 – 2013, Priority Axis 1 – “Education and training in support for growth and development of knowledge based society”, Key Area of Intervention 1.2 – “Quality in higher education”.

The main goal of this project is to contribute to the development and strengthening of higher education in Romania by improving the capacity of Romanian universities to offer new professional qualifications and programs which are tailored to the requirements of the job market. Consequently, the project entails redesigning, diversifying and bringing up-to-date a series of MA programs which are relevant in the context of Romania’s Europeanization.

Some of the key contributions of this project will be the following: the improvement of the academic curricula in three MA programs at CCPR (EU Communication & Governance, Project Management, and Brand Management & Corporate Communication); the creation and validation of a new academic qualification – “expert in EU affairs”; the diversification of the academic offer at the CCPR; and the correlation of the qualifications of CCPR graduates with employer requirements. The new qualifications will follow the National Framework of Higher Education Qualifications. The project also seeks to extend learning opportunities for students by introducing Euroentrepreneurship as a transversal field of study. This project will allow the construction and consolidation of an international and interdisciplinary center and network of practice and research on European issues which are relevant to the three MA programs targeted by the project.
In the mid- and long-run, the project plays an important role in establishing the professional community of the Romanian specialists in EU affairs. In this way, the project esentially contributes to the implementation of the NUPSPA’s strategy to become a school of governance with European visibility.
